Sean begins the class with a short talk about the spirit of yoga—oneness and love—including quotes on unity by Ghandi, Meister Eckhart and Rumi. He then leads a heart-opening chant — an original version of Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu, “May all beings everywhere be happy and free.” With the intention of nurturing love and unity in your life and the world, you will be guided into a creative, prayerful, challenging mandala of poses including standing poses, sitting poses, arm balances, balance poses, backbends and hip-openers. Poses include triangle, side angle, warrior two and three, half-moon, straddle, boat, squat, dancer, standing sage, half-seated twist, camel, wheel, tabletop and pigeon, with lots of vinyasas in between. At the end of class, float serenely in an ocean of oneness in savasana followed by a gentle reprise of the opening Rumi poem and chant.
